Responsible for web site design and maintenance, various programming tasks.
Currently rewriting the company’s ‘old faithful’ booking enquiry system from a monolithic script into a more manageable class-based system.
Developed a photo gallery system allowing customers to upload and arrange photographs, incorporating AJAX techniques including ‘drag and drop’.

Previous Employment

September 1999 – May 2007 – MillenniaVision Ltd.
Responsible for web site design and maintenance, various programming tasks.
Designed and created a series of interactive video components using green-screen (chromakey) footage of presenters, compiled in Macromedia Flash with interaction controlled using ActionScript.
Created a shopping cart site selling both physical and downloadable goods. The site was written from scratch in Perl with a custom flat text file database, search engine friendly URLs, all valid XHTML, Froogle feed and Google Sitemaps feed generators, auto-creation of product category pages based on popular search terms, lowest-cost delivery algorithms including multiple couriers and package batching.
Assisted in the development of a series of interactive DVD learning packages. My role included video encoding, DVD menu design and usability testing, documentation and package design, creation of accompanying websites with supporting materials for download.
Designed and created a driver/vehicle productivity measurement tool for a fleet telematics sytem, comparing GPS data from driven journeys with optimised routes based on “Travelling Salesman” algorithms. The system was written from scratch in VBScript, and produced valid XHTML, complete with different skins customised for each client.
July-September 1998 – Admit 1 Technologies / Victory Sports Inc.
Assisted in the construction and maintenance of a large Internet sports web site.
The role required a good working knowledge of HTML editing in Notepad, graphic design using Photoshop, and the ability to apply search engine optimisation techniques to sports statistics pages.
April-June 1998 – Piolax Ltd.
Helped set up and test a new production control system for a major automotive component manufacturer.
