An Easy Win

Bowled far better tonight than Sunday, despite arriving at 6:58 and getting no warm up.

Tuesday Night at AMF Bowling, Burnley is a doubles competition, where your team’s scores are totalled up and played against another team’s. What this means is you can play badly, and your partner can often get you out of the mire and together you’ll pick up some points.

Tonight for once there was no such need for my partner to play well, I was the best player by a total of 57 pins despite having the highest handicap of all four players.

My first game was the best, an impressive (for me) 190, and it was clear already that the points were going our way. The second game we fared less well and lost by four pins, it could have easily been a tie had I not thrown a six on my last go, with a disappointing 136. The final game was a return to form, although somewhat distracted by Manchester United’s six minute demolition of Reading on the TV, I threw a comfortable 171, ensuring we’d win the count-up and take home the points.
